Maui Villa & Vacation Rental Experts
One of the things that sets Exotic Estates apart from other Hawaii vacation rental agencies is that we have a Hawaii pedigree, founded on Maui in 2006, and regularly go out and inspect our homes in person. This is one of the main benefits of working with an agency like Exotic Estates: peace of mind when planning your vacation.
When it comes to Maui, nobody knows the island of Maui like our Maui-based Vacation Estate Specialists. They will not only give you firsthand knowledge of the homes, but also insights about the area that only a local can provide.
Maui Vacation Home Inspections
Typically it is our Owner and Guest Services team who give a home a thorough inspection before it becomes part of our collection. As part of the inspection process, a detailed amenities checklist is completed and all of the information is entered into our central database. However, the process does not end there. Once a home is on board, we will go back and do walk-throughs from time to time to make sure that the vacation rental is looking good, fully operational and our records are up to date.
All of our homes are high-quality properties, and many offer unique designer furnishings, luxurious amenities such as pools and spas, as well as fun, island-living features such as a hammock strung between two palm trees in the backyard. As gorgeous as the photos of our homes are, they do not do the homes justice. In person, generally, living rooms seem more spacious, ceilings higher and bedrooms more inviting.
Also, photos do not do the views justice. There is just no way to capture the feeling one has when looking out across the Pacific to the island of Lanai from one of our homes. With the trade winds rustling the palms and the birds singing, there is nothing quite like it.
For Exotic Estates, Maui is still a home base and our inspiration. Choose from a multitude of locations, and a host of unique amenities, attractions and vacation conveniences. Tailor your most ideal vacation in Maui with an exquisite vacation villa in South Maui in Wailea or Kihei, West Maui in Kaanapali or Kapalua, or on the North Shore in Haiku or Paia. Imagine gazing upon breath-taking mountain and Pacific Ocean views from the comfort of your own vacation hideaway!
Our Maui Vacation Home Benefits
The main benefit of renting an Exotic Estates Maui Vacation home is inspected quality - since our Villa Specialists live there and know the island, its neighborhoods and the homes that our guests rent. Of course, our homes offer all the things that are important to Villa renters, including privacy, and the ability to cook and eat what you like, when you like. This means that people in your group will always have their favorite foods on hand during their vacation – and they will not have to pay or wait each time they want to eat them! Also, this is a huge benefit if traveling with family members and friends with food allergies or special diets, as they can better control what goes into their meals.
Most homes come with all the elements that you will need to prepare meals: pots, pans, dishes etc. But you will need to bring the ingredients and thankfully, there are lots of good places on Maui where you can stock-up on supplies. We even have reliable grocery stocking companies that we can enlist to help you with your shopping.
Many of our homes have private pools and hot tubs, meaning that you will enjoy private use throughout your stay. Want to take a night swim - no problem. That can make for memorable evenings!
Also, price-wise, when you compare the cost of a luxury Maui hotel room and a villa, on a cost per room level, villas end up being a better value. That does not include the incredible expense associated with food and beverages at resorts versus stocking a vacation villa.
Maui Destination Attractions
On Maui you can enjoy the stunning beauty of the island's famous beaches, such as Kaanapali, and the lush and tropical jungles of Hana. Explore the diverse geography of the island, such Haleakala Crater, its unique cultural history and the wildlife that calls the island's waters home. Maui also offers much to do in the way of cultural activities and Exotic Estates offers beautiful vacation homes in West Maui,
Kaanapali, and
Wailea from beachfront to hilltop.
Maui No Ka Oi, a commonly heard phrase when traveling to the Valley Isle, means “Maui is the Best.” Without a doubt, this is believed by locals and visitors alike, as Maui has been voted “Best Island in The World” by Conde Nast, and other leading travel publications, on several occasions. The island is named after Maui, one of the most victorious warriors in Hawaiian history, and once held the moniker of “Royal Playground,” as it was the original seat for the Hawaiian monarchy.
Popular activities on Maui include world-class snorkeling, golf on famous courses and whale watching during the "winter" months.
Golf on Maui
Maui is also world-famous for its golf courses, including the famous Plantation course at Kapalua, where the PGA Tour holds its season opener event. Exotic Estates has several homes close by the courses, so golfers will be in heaven!
Maui’s Abundant Ocean Life & Activities
The Hawaiian Island of Maui is famous for its abundant sea-life and endless underwater visibility. For many divers, Maui is the favorite Hawaiian island for underwater experiences. Above or below, in one day, there are plenty of opportunities to commune with sea life, whether you’re an experienced diver or snorkeler, or prefer the comfort of viewing from a boat. Below are just a couple of the sights that attract people to Maui’s ocean waters.
Diving & Snorkeling at Molokini Crater
Cruising to Molokini crater is a must-do Maui experience. One of only three sheltered volcanic calderas in the world, this site is known for its crystal-clear visibility (often up to 150 feet!), vast quantities of tropical fish, and unique location off the coast of South Maui in the ocean channel between the islands of Maui and Kaho’olawe.
You do not have to go under the water to be wowed – the caldera rim above water is pretty spectacular – however, Molokini is a prime location for those looking to interact with Maui’s ocean life in an unforgettable location. Day trips to Molokini are offered by many tour companies, and perfect for those looking to snorkel, SNUBA, or scuba dive. Experienced divers can drift dive off the 300-foot sheer outer wall, while snorkelers stay within the current and wave protected crescent shaped caldera.
Maluaka Beach or “Turtle Town”
Turtle Town is a famous a stretch of coast that lies between Nahuna Point and Black Sand Beach in South Maui. Turtle Town is widely known to be Maui's best snorkeling spot, due to its abundant turtle sightings.
Maui Seasonal Events
Maui Winter Events
Each year, during the winter months, two-thirds of all humpback whales in the North Pacific make their way to the blue, temperate waters of the Hawaiian Islands. They love Hawaii’s warm, clear Pacific waters, just like we humans do! For the humpbacks, Hawaii is a nursery, where they can give birth to calves and nurse their young through the winter season.
The official season is November to May! If you are visiting the Islands during the season, consider this annual migration a unique and complimentary attraction offered up by Mother Nature. You can read more about the best places to watch
Humpback whales on Maui on the Exotic Estates blog.
